PHOENIX (AP) - A 29-year-old man is in custody after being arrested in two hit-and-run fatalities last weekend.

Police said L.C. Jones III was arrested Monday on suspicion of second-degree murder, manslaughter, hit-and-run and endangerment in the deaths Saturday night of 17-year old Nester Lopez and 28-year-old Edgar Ferral-Lopez.

Police said Lopez was struck as he crossed a street and that Ferral-Lopez was fatally injured minutes later in a collision at an intersection when another vehicle ran a red light.

The other car involved in the second collision was immobilized and the driver fled on foot.
