SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Scottsdale say they've arrested a man in connection with stolen donations from a church.
They say 52-year-old Michael Walker is facing burglary charges after he allegedly stole money from Saint Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church in south Scottsdale.
A priest says Walker had been visiting the church for years and he's been seen on video stealing money from locked church donation boxes.
A church employee also reported seeing Walker stealing from the boxes.
During a police interview, Walker allegedly admitted to taking money from the locked donation boxes.
Officers reported finding tools on him that likely were used to pry open the locked donation boxes.
Police say Walker is on probation for burglary and has several prior burglary, trespassing and theft arrests in Arizona and four other states.
