MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a Phoenix police officer and then having a freeway standoff in Mesa.
Phoenix police say the man led officers on a short pursuit that came to a stop about 3 p.m. Tuesday on the Loop 202.
Officers used gas munitions to get the man out of his pickup truck.
He was later taken into custody.
Police haven't released the man's name yet or specify the nature of the assault or what charges the man could be facing.
