A 28-year-old man arrested at Phoenix Comicon last month while carrying four loaded guns, ammunition and a knife has pleaded not guilty to multiple criminal charges.
Mathew Sterling is charged with crimes that include attempted murder, aggravated assault on an officer, resisting arrest, misconduct with body armor and carrying a weapon into a prohibited place.
Sterling entered his plea Tuesday in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Comicon imposed drastic security measures following Sterling's arrest.
Police said he had threatened to harm a performer and posted online threats against police officers, convinced he was the alter-ego of a Marvel comic book character called the Punisher.
Police arrested Sterling at the event site after a person contacted authorities about posts on social media.
