Yavapai County Sheriff's officials say a 30-year-old man is accused of manslaughter in the death of his father in Bagdad.
They say Nathan Winwood's arrest came after the county medical examiner confirmed 69-year-old Kenneth Winwood died from blunt force trauma to the head.
The elder Winwood and his son had a verbal argument on July 8.
Authorities say at one point, Nathan Winwood punched his father twice in the face.
He then left and returned 20 minutes later to find his father lying on the ground, unable to get up.
Nathan Winwood put his father in a chair and then left to go camping.
Sheriff's officials say Kenneth Winwood contacted his daughters in Phoenix. They took him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries one week later.
