TUCSON (AP) - Travelers who cross between the U.S. and Mexico during the holidays can expect long waits at ports of entry.
The holiday season is notoriously busy as people from Mexico travel to the U.S. and the other way around.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Nogales has prepared for the high volume of visitors by opening a new office that helps expedite permits for some Mexican nationals coming to the U.S.
The office is open throughout the holidays.
Still, drivers can expect hours-long waits in cars as the Christmas holiday nears.
Travelers can check wait times online and on a mobile app.
