A local pest control company says when the Monsoon hits, critters come out to play and find ways into homes.
"This is what we call bug season," said Thayer Thacker, Truly Nolen'sregional trainer. "This is when we are getting slammed."
Thacker says the bugs can range from ants and scorpions to American roaches and termites.
So how do you prepare your home for monsoon bugs?
"People want to look at their house and look for cracks and crevices," he said. "The smallest crack potentially can let a pest inside your home."
Thacker says it is just as important to check plants outside your home as well as the cracks around your home.
"All that debris piled up along with the river rocks... perfect habitat for scorpions there can be an ant colony nesting under there," he explained.
He recommends people check their home once a month to make sure new cracks aren't developing and that plants are maintained.
