TUCSON, Ariz. - Treasures 4 Teachers and Four Peaks are partnering to help more than 5,000 teachers across Arizona with school supplies for the upcoming school year.

Through the partnership, teachers who pick up a voucher will be receive a bag filled with back-to-school essentials.

Adrienne Ledford, the Executive Director of Treasures 4 Teachers said the partnership between the organization and Four Peaks has helped many teachers throughout the state bring much needed items into their classrooms.

"What I find is markers are probably one of the most needed items because they dry up. Crayons and spiral notebooks, everybody thinks is the big item that teachers need but it depends on the grade level," said Ledford.

Through the partnership, 1,200 vouchers will be given to teachers in the Tucson area.

Teachers can pick up vouchers starting June 24 at Treasures 4 Teachers, which is located at 6800 N. Camino Martin #124.

Vouchers can also be picked up at Monsoons Tap & Grill, located at 6781 N. Thornydale Rd. and at Trident Grill III, which is located at 250 S. Craycoft Rd.

The bags filled with the back-to-school supplies will be given out to teachers on July 15 and 16.

The Treasures 4 Teachers program not only provides low-cost school essentials to teachers, but also teaches them new STEM focused activities.

Items like gears, cotton balls, and straws are among the many teachers can buy from Treasures 4 Teachers to take back to their classrooms and teach with.

"Teachers come in and get silly things like PVC pipe and bubble wrap and they'll give four or five items to a child and they'll say make something with it," said Ledford.

During the summer break, Treasures 4 Teachers is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..
