Thanksgiving is the holiday for giving back, and one Tucsonan is doing just that.

Alfonso Avitia, 23, came up with an idea and a random number and decided he wanted to feed 20 families this Thanksgiving.

So Avitia began a go-fund-page to not only raise money but to get the community together as well.

Avitia says, "when people see the progress and how popular donation is becoming, they want to be part of that."

For every donation, Avitia will match dollar for dollar up to $50.

In just ten days, donations have poured in and exceeded the $1,000 goal.

"Ever since word got out a little more we ended up raising money and it went from 20 families to 30," says Avitia.

Fry's will cook all the meals for the families including, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and much more.

Victory Church will receive the food donations, and the YWCA Youth Organizations will receive ten turkeys.
