Many business owners said the Affordable Care Act is making it tough for them to pay for their employees health insurance.
Michael Varney is the President/CEO of the Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce, he said a comprehensive survey of businesses in his area and was surprised health care was a primary concern they had.
"It's a major issue and we were surprised just how big the issue had become and how fasr it had become a big issue."
Varney said businesses are struggling and most of the companies want to do right by their employees and their families by maintaining decent coverage.
Lea Marquez Peterson, President/CEO of the the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said the lack of affordability is hurting both the employer and employee.
"The lack of affordability for the business community has really been top of mind. Our chamber represents over 1,800 businesses here in Arizona and the majority of them are not providing health insurance because its simply not affordable."
