The Pima County School Superintendent's Office held a Legendary Teacher Day reception Tuesday.

The reception honored educators who have made an impact in the lives of their students.

Legendary Teacher Day was established in 2014 by Nicholas Clement. He spent his career identifying, developing and celebrating teachers. At the reception, Clement partnered with Pima County School Superintendent, Dustin J. Williams, to increase the reach of teacher recognition.

Legendary Teacher Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of September. This year it will be Sept. 27.

The public is invited to recognize a teacher that made a difference and to post a tribute online here.

Random tributes will be selected and the teacher being recognized will get a gift card in the name of the person submitting the tribute. The Pima County School Superintendent Award will be also be chosen from these submissions and receive a special recognition after Legendary Teacher Day.
