A single resident has been displaced following a mobile home fire late Saturday night, according to a press release from the Tucson Fire Department.

Units responded to a call made by a passerby who saw smoke and flames coming from a mobile home in the 5600 block of South Country Club Road.

Units arrived at 12:21 a.m. and extinguished the fire coming from the bedroom of the home. Crews were able to confine the fire to the single room with a nightstand and mattress heavily burned.

Capt. Barrett Baker of TFD says the fire was controlled six minutes after the first crew of firefighters arrived.

The man who lives in the home was not present when the fire took place but returned as crews were still on scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the damages estimate have yet to be determined.
