It's been 50 years since Lake Havasu City was gifted with its own London Bridge.
Havasu City officials plan to celebrate the anniversary Saturday with a traditional flock of sheep crossing the iconic structure, following a London tradition going back hundreds of years.
The bridge spans a channel between the shoreline and an island in the city. It was sold by the British government in 1968 to Robert P. McCullouch, the city's founder.
The City of London wanted to replace the bridge because it was unfit to withstand traffic.
It was dismantled, transported to Lake Havasu and reassembled over a three-year period.
Gov. Doug Ducey and Charles Bowman, lord mayor of London, will also be part of the festivities.
The bridge has become one of the state's major tourist attractions.
