PHOENIX (AP) - Several juveniles are accused of assaulting detention officers during a riot at the Yavapai County Juvenile Detention Center in Prescott.
Presiding Judge David L. Mackey of Yavapai County Superior Court says in statement that three juveniles wrecked an area inside the detention center, tried to escape and attacked three officers Sunday before authorities regained control of the youths.
The detention officers and three juveniles were treated and released from a hospital, though the extent of their injuries is unclear.
No one else was injured in the riot.
Police are investigating the incident.
A Message left at the Yavapai Superior Court wasn't immediately returned and Prescott Police declined to comment Monday.
