A new scam is using the legal system to target people in Pima County, according to a media release from Pima County Superior Court.
Scammers are calling residents and telling them they owe a fine for failing to report for jury duty and demanding immediate payment on the phone. The scammers are threatening people with jail time if they refuse to provide payment information.
Officials from the Pima County Court say they will never call or send emails asking people to pay a fine for missing jury duty.
