TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A judge in Tucson will consider whether to dismiss a lawsuit filed against Pima county over a multi-million-dollar deal it made with a balloon spaceflight company.
The Goldwater Institute filed the suit in April alleging that the deal was an unlawful gift of public funds. Pima County has filed a motion to dismiss the case, and a Pima County Superior Court judge will hear arguments on Monday.
The Pima County Board of Supervisors approved the $15 million incentives package in February for World View Enterprise, which says it will bring 400 support jobs to the area.
The package includes building a 120,000-square-foot headquarters in Tucson for World View Enterprise.
Pima County has said the Goldwater Institute's claims are false and misleading.
