TUCSON, Ariz. — Pima County JTED held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for a new learning center opening in 2020.

According to JTED, The Bridges Innovative Learning Center will be a 50,000 square foot building that offers a path to medical careers including Medical Assistants and Licensed Nursing Assistants.

"This location provides easy access - it's less than 25 minutes away from up 52,000 high school age students," JTED said in a Facebook post.

The learning center will also provide an expansive area for Robotics, Automation and Mechatronics programs.

JTED says 400 to 500 students will attend the campus during the day and another 450-550 students will attend in the evening.

The building will be located on the northwest corner of I-10 and Park Avenue.
