Many of us have listened to the Smashing Pumpkins or heard the nursery rhyme Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, but what about javelina pumpkin eaters that smash your decorations?

Pumpkins aren't just good for pulling out the guts, baking the seeds, decorating, and carving — they're a delicious snacks for javelina.

If pumpkins are left outside and low to the ground they'll attract javelina. Your front yard or porch will be full of them in no time, and can really create some safety concerns.

Arizona Game and Fish says people should either keep their jack-o-lanterns inside and display them in a window instead. If you do want to keep them outside, make sure they're well off the ground and raised up high.
