Having a child costs more than most parents can imagine.
The government says it will cost more than $233,600 to raise a child born last year until age 17.
The Department of Agriculture says housing is the biggest expense. Extra food is the second biggest cost.
The upside is that it costs $12,000 less to raise a kid today than it did in 2013.
