Islamic Center of Tucson celebrates the end of Ramadan at Reid Park

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Islamic Center of Tucson celebrated the end of Ramadan this morning.

Across the globe participates of Ramadan spent the last 29 days fasting.

Islamic Center of Tucson officials say fasting occurs from dawn to dusk.

Ifran Sheikh Chairman of Board of Directors for Islamic Center of Tucson says "One month every year of 12 months is really roughly about 8 percent of your lifetime. So you spend 8 percent of your lifetime reinforcing the values over and over again. And all its about is living the good life, bee a good person. Be good do good. That's the message."

Today marks the official start of Shawal where Muslims celebrate the history of Ramadan.
