Inmate escapes work crew

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department is asking for help from the public in locating an escaped inmate.
 
Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, spokesperson with PCSD says that on March 19, deputies responded to the Pima Animal Care Center regarding an inmate who had walked away from a work crew around 7:30 a.m.
 
Sarah Herrera, 22, was in custody, serving time for misdemeanor trespassing and shoplifting charges, said Rodriguez. She has served four of her 18 required days.
 
She was last seen wearing a red Pima County Jail uniform possibly with a red sweatshirt. A white sports utility vehicle was seen parked in the area where jail clothing was found following her escape, said Rodriguez.
 
Herrera is described as a 22-year-old African-American female, 5’06” tall, and weighs approximately 100 pounds.
 
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Herrera, is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
