TUCSON, Ariz. - A woman is dead after an exchange of gunfire between two cars on Interstate 19 in Green Valley Saturday evening, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

AZDPS said troopers responded to reports of shots being fired between two vehicles on northbound I-19 just after 5 p.m. A man, woman, and 3-year-old girl were all found with gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The woman has since died, and has been identified as 25-year-old Marilynn Patricia Pacheco.

Officials say the 29-year-old man and his 3-year-old daughter were both treated for gunshot wounds, and released from the hospital.

I-19 was closed in both directions at Esperanza Boulevard, for several hours Saturday evening, while officials investigated the incident.

The suspect, 21-year-old Mateo Dina Zavala, has been booked into the Pima County Jail for first degree murder, endangerment, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of drive by shooting.

According to AZDPS, the suspect and the victim knew each other, but their relationship is unclear.
