TUCSON, Ariz. - Several hundred westside residents have been without power since 5 p.m. yesterday and may not receive service again until midnight.
"Our crews have been working all day to restore service," said Tucson Electric Power rep Joe Salkowski, via email, "but there’s a lot of work left to complete."
The westside outage, which includes Tucson Estates, is part of storm-caused outages that sprung up all over town Wednesday, starting around 5 p.m.
According to the TEP outage map, nearly 2,000 westside customers were initially affected, and nearly 300 remained without power Thursday afternoon. The outage was caused by downed poles and wires.
Sixty-three customers in the foothills area were also without power as of Thursday afternoon.
