After 72 years in their old campus, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona took a major step forward.
They broke ground on a brand new $10 million dollar complex.
The new complex should make a big difference not only for the animals but also for the people who care for them.
Randy Peterson, Director of Development says, "the new facility is going to mean improved care and health for the pets. We're going to have better ventilation. We're going to have better air control systems. Better flow between admissions and adoptions."
The Humane Society's fund-raising effort now stands at $6 million.
They will be working on $4 million more as they take their fund-raising to the public.
