Human remains were found by a hiker in the desert southwest of Arizona City on Monday, according to a news release from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.
Mark Clark, a spokesman for PCSO, says the medical examiner's office has custody of the remains and they will attempt to identify the deceased.
Clark says there is evidence at the scene that the remains may be from Caleb Householder, a 34-year-old Arizona City man that was reported missing to PCSO on March 23.
PCSO has been in contact with Householder's family about the recovery of the remains. There has not been positive identification made by the medical examiner's office.
Clark says there are no obvious signs of how the person died.
