Northwest Fire responded to a house fire Saturday night near Cortaro Road.
According to Northwest Fire, a Pima County Deputy driving by noticed smoke coming from the attic space of the home. The deputy then stopped with his emergency lights flashing outside the home. This prompted the homeowner, who was unaware of the fire, to come outside. He was then moved to a safe area.
Fire crews arrived on the scene within five minutes and determined that the fire was burning inside a wall in the garage. The fire was quickly put out.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The homeowner and his two dogs were not injured.
