Honor Flight #26 departed from the Tucson International Airport Saturday Morning.
There were 23 Korean War and Vietnam veterans departing.
The community cheered for the veterans with patriotic colors as they headed to the boarding area.
Honor Flight #26 will return Monday evening and the community is invited to participate in the "Welcome Home Vets" celebration. The celebration will be upstairs at the Center Gallery Area around 7 p.m.
Parking tickets for the "Welcome Home Vets" will be validated. It's the Tucson Airport Authorities way of saying thank you for supporting our veterans.
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit created to honor America's veterans and their sacrifices. Honor Flights transport veterans to Washington D.C to visit and reflect at memorials.
