Home invasion crew arrested in Tucson

Officers and agents from Counter Narcotics Alliance arrested five men of a home invasion crew in Tucson, according to a news release from the Tucson Police Department. 

Police say the Counter Narcotics Alliance received information about a man possibly selling drugs and invading homes in the Tucson area.

Agents and officers from CNA immediately started to work with the information given in collaboration with the Arizona Attorney General's Office, which led them to identify five adult men of a home invasion crew. 

Police say on Wednesday night, with the assistance of the Tucson Police SWAT and Air Unit, all five men were arrested without incident at a hotel in the Tucson area. 

Police say the men were arrested prior to committing a planned home invasion. 

Multiple weapons and other items that could have been used during the course of a planned home invasion were recovered by police. 

The five men arrested have been identified as 25-year-old Santos Jesus Rodriguez, 32-year-old Luis Angel Coronado, 26-year-old Gabriel Abran Lopez, 28-year-old James Joe Johnson and 25-year-old Lonnie James Rodriguez. 

The five men were arrested for various felonies including Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the 1st Degree and narcotics related offenses. 

The men were transported and booked into the Pima County Jail.

Police say detectives are investigating whether the men were involved in any prior incidents. Anyone with information is asked to please call 88-CRIME.
