TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Holaway Elementary celebrated their Gold Award and now hold the title of "Beat the Odds School."
It is a multi-year improvement program that helps lead teachers and students in a minority and low-income population in overcoming obstacles and improving their academic performance.
Six other schools throughout the state also celebrated their gold win.
