A horse and rider are dead after a hit-and-run in the 10500 block of S. Nogales Hwy late Saturday night.
The rider was identified as 50-year-old Scott Allen Brown.
Pima County Sheriff's Department says the suspect, 36-year-old Dimas Leon Mariscal, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury or death.
Officials say Mariscal was driving a small blue pickup truck at the time of the incident and fled southbound from the scene.
The crash closed Nogales Hwy in both directions for several hours overnight.
Nogales Hwy is closed in both directions near Old Nogales Hwy. PCSD is investigating a fatal hit and run collision and is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a small blue pickup truck with front end damage last seen sb from the scene.
