A hiker was rescued in Pima Canyon Monday by an Air and Marine Operations helicopter crew.
Authorities received a call for an adult male hiker in distress just before 4 p.m.
Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department were on scene and requested an air evacuation.
The hiker was located in a rugged ravine a mile north of the Pima Canyon trailhead in the Santa Catalina Mountains.
AMO agents responded in a UH-60 black hawk helicopter equipped with a HOIST device capable of lowering and lifting equipment and personnel from the helicopter according to a release.
The hiker was lifted to the helicopter where he received medical treatment and was transported to a local hospital.
