PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a hiker found unresponsive on a trail in Phoenix's South Mountain Recreational Park last week has died at a hospital.
Phoenix Fire Department officials say it appears the man had a heart attack while he was hiking alone.
The name and age of the man haven't been released.
The fire department's technical rescue team was called to the park before 6 p.m. Friday.
They arrived to find other hikers performing CPR on the man close to the parking lot on the south side of South Mountain.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
A fire department official said Monday that the hiker has died.
