Higher National Park entrance fees are now in effect

Posted

National Park entrance fees are on the rise across the United States, and that includes some of your favorite spots right here in Arizona.

Starting on June 1, you'll see an increase at the Saguaro National Park, the Grand Canyon National Park, and more.

It's part of a sweeping series of cost-cutting and effective price hikes needed to address the $11.6 billion in deferred maintenance across the system of 417 parks.

For the Saguaro National Park, the changes will not go into effect until 2019, but here's a glimpse of what's to come.

However, if you're planning a trip to the Grand Canyon National Park, here's what you can expect to pay during your next visit.

Other destinations experiencing increased fees include the Tumacácori National Monument and the Petrified Forest National Park
