TUCSON, Ariz.- Habitat for Humanity Tucson in partnership with Home Depot framed six new homes on Friday.
It's part of a nationwide, annual program called 'Celebration of Service' which aims to give back to the veteran community.
More than 50 members of Home Depot's volunteer team came out to lend a hand.
Habitat for Humanity Tucson's CEO T. Van Hook says it couldn't have been done without the support of volunteers from the last four decades.
"We have about 250 volunteers out and quite a celebration happening.
So forty years is quite a long time in the Habitat movement and we're really proud that Tucsonans have supported us over those
forty years and continue to, like we see today with all of these amazing volunteers and sponsors."
The program steps up their commitment to veteran service projects this time of year in an effort to have them done by Veterans day.
