SAHUARITA, Ariz. — The Green Valley Pecan Company hosted the 11th annual Pecan Classic fun run Saturday.
The run is the final race in Orchard Series, which gives participants a look inside the farm while running under trees through trails.
The Orchard Series started with the Nut Run back in April, which was followed by the Breeze in the Trees in July.
In a statement, Sahuarita Pecan Festival Coordinator Paula Beemer said “We’re also happy to announce that this year’s race beneficiary is the Law & Public Safety program at Walden Grove High School. Support local students and connect with community members at this year’s Pecan Classic and Family Fun Run!”
Participants started on the north side of Sahuarita Road at 8 a.m.
The pecan store also offered a discount for all race participants.
