TUCSON, Ariz. — An 83-year-old Green Valley resident is dead following a crash, according to Green Valley Fire Department.
GVFD say they responded to a crash in the area of the Esperanza off-ramp of northbound I-19 Saturday afternoon.
When crews arrived, they found a car resting on its top, with a passenger trapped inside. Crews believe, the driver lost control of the car exiting I-19 and did not stop at the Esperanza intersection, crossing over it and up over the retaining wall on the other side of the intersection, flipping, then coming to a rest on the car's top.
The driver has been identified as an 83-year-old female, from Green Valley. She died at the scene.
