PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will help serve thousands of people free Thanksgiving breakfast at an annual event at a south Phoenix McDonalds restaurant.
The governor's office says Ducey and his wife Angela will be on hand at the McDonalds owned by Julian Nabozny as thousands of local residents are treated to the meal.
Nabozny has been offering complementary meals on Thanksgiving since 1993 as a way to give back to the community. The event draws several thousand people.
Local businesses also will distribute free turkeys and other items at the restaurant at 6005 S. Central Ave. The event runs from 8-11:30 a.m.
Ducey and other elected officials and community leaders will welcome guests starting at 9 a.m.
