A local Gold Star mother is helping organize a wreath-laying ceremony to honor fallen soldiers.
Marsha Moon's son Christopher gave up a baseball scholarship to the University of Arizona to join the Army in 2008. He was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in 2010.
Marsha says now she is trying to help honor other men and women who paid the ultimate price.
Wreaths Across America is a national day of honor for fallen service members.
The wreath-laying ceremony is Saturday, December 16 at East Lawn Palm Cemetery at 10 a.m.
