The Arizona Republic's owner plans to sell the downtown Phoenix office building that has been home to the state's largest newspaper for more than 20 years.
Greg Burton, the paper's executive editor, announced the sale Wednesday, saying that local real-estate company ViaWest is the buyer.
The plan is for the newspaper's office to remain in the 10-story building under a leasing arrangement between Gannett Co. and the buyer.
The Republic is owned by Gannett, the parent company of more than 100 other U.S. media outlets, including USA Today.
Burton and the company did not disclose the building's sale price.
The Republic reports the sale is expected to close in late September.
