The Cochise County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved grant funding to help the Cochise County Sheriff's Office in its border security efforts.

The grant is for $55,633.94 and will go towards purchasing remote cameras to grow an existing virtual fence along the border.

The cameras will monitor signs of drug or human smuggling.

The grant was awarded by the State of Arizona Border Security Trust Fund.
