Transit officers who saw a sloth struggling to cross a road in Ecuador stopped to lend a helping hand to the frightened animal that was clinging to a pole in the middle of the roadway.
The Transit Commission of Ecuador posted the photos of the sloth to their Facebook page on Friday.
In a Facebook comment, the transit commission wrote, "we are grateful to all for your concern. Be advised, the sloth bear rescued by our unis was reviewed by a veterinarian, the same one that determined that I was in optimal conditions to be returning to their habitat."
The transit commission said they were grateful to everyone who was interested in the health of the animal and will continue to help any animals found in similar situations in the future.
