Friends of Pima Animal Care Center is asking for your help to protect dogs in the sweltering summer heat.
"Pup in Boots" is the name of the newly launched project. They're asking for donations of new or gently-used booties of any size for dogs to protect their feet from hot asphalt.
The Animal Protection Officers at PACC will distribute the donated booties to dogs that belong to the homeless and to other community members in need.
During the summer, sidewalk temperatures can reach well over 150 degrees and in the right conditions, skin damage can occur in less than 60 seconds.
For more details and a full list of drop-off locations visit the Friends of PACC website.
