COCHISE, Ariz. — A freeze warning is expected to hit parts of Cochise County early tomorrow morning.

The warning covers Wilcox, Benson, Sierra Vista, Bisbee and Douglas.

Jim Graham owns golden rule vineyard in Cochise, along with his wife. The duo has owned the vineyard for 12 years, and right now has 25 acres of vines in operation. They completed their harvest just in time for freezing conditions to sweep Cochise County.

"We just finished picking grapes yesterday, so we're feeling a little bit relieved that the crop is off the vines," said Graham.

Around Nov. 1, is when Graham says, they expect it to get cold. He says tomorrow's early morning hard freeze is coming a few days sooner than expected.

"Some years the hard freeze doesn't happen until, like Thanksgiving time. So, we're a little bit early only because this has been such a late season," said Graham.

Now, harvest season is officially over and Graham says its time to make sure the vineyard's irrigation system is ready for winter.

"We do have some things to take care of before the frost. Some above-ground equipment that needs to be drained and taken care of," said Graham.

The freeze warning will be in effect in Cochise County from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
