UA provided free dental screenings and treatment for children on Monday.

The UA Mobile Health Program was able to do this through an on-going partnership with Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation.

More than 130 students from Santa Cruz Catholic School got free access to dental screenings, fluoride varnish treatments, and oral health education. This was free, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation.

The UA Mobile Health Program is housing in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. It utilizes integrated clinical services and community engagement to empower underserved communities through sustainable systems that increase access to health promotion, disease prevention, and clinical services.

It says as the ties between oral health and overall health become more prevalent, the dental specific services are imperative to set children on the path to good oral health habits.
