TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Starting on Friday, hundreds of thousands of people will flock to the downtown streets of Tucson to enjoy the 49th Annual 4th Avenue Winter Street Fair.
With about 450 arts and crafts vendors, plus more than 40 food vendors, people will be able to stroll through lots of entertainment from Ninth Street and University Blvd. along Fourth Avenue from December 11 through the 13 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. Also, it is free to attend.
As for parking, event organizers offer a free Shuttle to and from the Street Fair from the Pennington Parking Garage downtown and from the Main Gate Square at the U of A.
Organizers also say that event-goers can park at the U of A parking garages, which are free on the weekend, or in another downtown parking garage, then take the Streetcar from there. For a list of locations where you can park and ride, click here.
TDOT's Jeremy Papuga recommends the Streetcar as another option for transportation.
"One of the big benefits is obviously convenience. Number two - to avoid some of the congestion and it's a great opportunity for those who haven't had a chance to ride to give us a first try," Papuga said. "It's a short ride from the parking space to the fourth avenue street fair so it's a great way to introduce yourself to the street car system."
Papuga suggests a Sun-GO 1-day ticket, which costs $4.00. Riders can buy it at any Streetcar stop or download the GO Tucson mobile app.
