The northbound lanes of Interstate 19 were closed Tuesday morning due to a crash involving six vehicles.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash took place at kilometer 80 by Pima Mine Rd., just after 11 a.m.
Crews found six vehicles involved and as many as 10 patients. Four ambulances were requested to the scene.
Two patients were transported to Banner University Medical Center – Main Campus, while three others were taken to Banner University Medical Center – South Campus for further evaluation and treatment. According to DPS, there were no critical injuries.
I-19 Northbound was closed for a period of time to ensure the safety of emergency crews. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by DPS.
