Four people were transported to the hospital following a crash near the Foothills Mall on Saturday night, according to the Northwest Fire District.
Capt. Brian Keeley, a spokesman for the district, said around 7:20 p.m. NW fire responded to a two car accident on Ina in between La Cholla and Mona Lisa.
The first unit that arrived on scene and found both vehicles with heavy damage.
One patient in the involved vehicles had to be extricated using the "Jaws of Life," Keeley said.
That patient was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The three other patients were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department are investigating the cause of the accident.
