UPDATE: Tucson Police looking for vehicle involved in hit-and-run on Fort Lowell

UPDATE (10:15 a.m., Dec 2.):

Tucson Police are looking for the vehicle that fled the scene of a hit-and-run in the 300 block of West Fort Lowell.

According to a news release from TPD, officers responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian at just before 7 a.m. on Dec. 1.

The pedestrian, a 43-year-old woman, was transported to Banner University Medical Center where she was later died.

The vehicle involved in the crash left the area before first responders arrived.

TPD determined that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Fort Lowell Road when it struck the woman, who was in the roadway.

The victim was not in a marked or implied crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME.

Tucson police confirm the roadway is back open.

East Fort Lowell Road is closed in both directions, just east of North Oracle Road, due to a fatal crash.

Tucson Police Department said the closure will last several hours. They are asking drivers to find an alternate route.
