Food donations desperately needed for Salvation Army Christmas meal

TUCSON, Ariz. - Just two days ahead of their big Christmas meal, the Salvation Army said it is in desperate need of food donations.

The meal is being served on Christmas day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center.

“This meal is for the people of Tucson. We are so grateful for the support we received throughout the year,” said Captain Ellen, Salvation Army Tucson Area Coordinator, in a press release. “This meal is not just for the homeless, but for families and those alone on this day.”

Some of the items they need include:

  • turkeys
  • canned green beans
  • instant box potatoes
  • butter
  • already cooked assorted pies
  • yams
  • eggs
  • cranberry sauce
  • turkey stuffing
  • loaves of bread
  • brown gravy
  • cartons of milk
  • gallons of milk

Donations are being accepted at the Salvation Army's Hospitality House, 1002 North Main Avenue.
