Food bank sees drop in donations, how to help

and last updated

Right before a busy summer, local food banks notice a drop in donations during a time of heightened need.

Walmart Neighborhood Markets in Tucson are hosting a food drive until next Friday.

On Wednesday, Walmart will be presenting Interfaith Community Services Food Banks with a $20,000 grant to help the food bank with supplies and a mobile food pantry program.

How you can help: Shoppers at the Walmart Neighborhood Markets can purchase a $5 pre-filled bag at registers. Those bags include the most needed items including pasta, sauce, tuna and canned foods.

Last year ICS Food Banks served more than 32,000 children and adults.
